Duobox is a local-first workspace for documents, repositories, context, and AI agents. Content stays in an ordinary folder you choose. Begin with an individual project, then add models, extensions, or team collaboration when needed.

Start by role

Use the App independently

Complete installation and initial setup.
Read The App and local Spaces.
Complete your first document and Chat workflow.
Learn the document tree and editor and work with documents in Chat.
Use Shell and Agent, import and export, and Cloud Page when needed.

Join a team

Understand accounts and sign-in.
Follow the collaboration quickstart to select an Organization.
Learn the roles and permissions in Organizations and access.
Understand Remote Spaces and synchronization.

Host collaboration

Start with Duobox Server to understand its responsibilities.
Choose Dokploy deployment or Dokploy Compose deployment for your environment.
Use collaboration and server troubleshooting for sign-in, sync, and server problems.

Customize and develop

Read Extensions and Skills to understand both extension mechanisms.
Connect a local or private service with custom models.
Follow Developing custom extensions to build an App extension.
Use the CLI reference for terminal workflows.

The local Space remains the center of Duobox. A Remote Space adds Organization access and synchronization to a complete local folder and Git clone. Downcity Federation handles identity, Organizations, Membership, and model discovery, while Duobox Server manages Spaces, project ACL, and Git synchronization.
